MAURIE & EVE

Available here.
Thanks to the My Catwalk end of season sale and a lovely gift card, I was able to snag this Lara Cropped Knit from Maurie and Eve at a heavily discounted price. READ: Under $60 including postage. I know, un-freakin-believable right? Well you better start believing it because I do not lie. Well, when I was younger I used to lie about having brushed my teeth before bed, but let's not go there. The moral of this story is that you all should head on over to the My Catwalk site to get yourself something pretty and remember to always brush your teeth.

NEED SUPPLY LOOKBOOK

The Summer lookbook for online store Need Supply Co. is now up and featuring some incredibly cute shots. I know, it's not even summer yet over here in Australia-land, but a girl can dream, right? These three images from the lookbook remind me of a humid summer afternoon, where the dress code is a bikini and minimal clothing. You know the type I'm thinking of, one that is spent chowing down on ice cream, later followed by an ice block and then possibly another ice cream for dinner..

JALOUSE JULY/AUGUST 2011

The lighting, the colours and the 90's feel of these photos are simply divine. I'm quite sure that I haven't seen an editorial like this before, it feels somewhat refreshing. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like whipping out a copy of Jane Eyre and sitting by their nonexistent bay window wearing a ridiculously-oversized-yet-still-somehow-very-adorable hat? Nope, just me then?

ATTITUDE

I'd have to say that I love everything about this little film on Attitude magazine's winter issue cover shoot. The model, the music, the clothing and even the editing of the film leave me wanting more. The best part is that when you're done watching it, you can just head straight over to the site and view the entire magazine for free. YES, FREE. Everything is just that much better when it's free, for example: fresh fruit you can take straight from the tree. I promise you that was not supposed to rhyme, that little burst of lameness was completely unintentional. I'll just stop now before I make it any worse for myself, I promise.

XSSAT GIVEAWAY

I arrived home last week to find a parcel waiting for me at my front door, to say that I was excited would be a rather large understatement. In fact, I didn't even make it completely up the stairs before I had ripped it open and marvelled at the contents. Inside was a sleek black box wrapped in a cute little bow, sent to me from Xiaohan from xxsat (if you haven't already familiarised yourself with her blog then you are being seriously deprived my friends). The contents were products from Xiaohan's Winter Essentials Giveaway that she promptly sent me after notifying me that I'd won. I'm now the very proud owner of many amazing hair products, gift vouchers and some cosmetics that were much needed (I feel that I should point out that there's more hidden underneath what is pictured above, yeah that's right, EVEN MORE). If I had to choose a favourite, it would have to be the MAC False Lashes Mascara as it's pretty much now my new best friend. This is because I actually have no friends. Only joking guys! But really.

OC RESORT 2012

Here's just a sneak peek of Opening Ceremony's first Resort Collection lookbook shot by Tim Barber. I'm particularly loving the circle skirt teamed with the collared shirt as well as the white chunky knit sweater. I'd happily take any of these pieces though, each one is so different yet somehow they're all kind of classics. I'm keen to see the rest of the collection because so far, so good.

CHILD'S PLAY

CHAINS OF LOVE

PAUL MITCHELL AND PATRON

Taken on a Nikon D90.
You know you're at a good party when you notice model Anja Konstantinova casually talking to the DJ while there's an open bar freely flowing glasses of whatever it is you fancy. I spent Sunday night at Beach Haus for a "VIP style" party hosted by Paul Mitchell and Patron where I found the greatest pants that I have possibly ever seen (pictured above and referred to as "mermaid pants"). Miranda (pictured below the mermaid pants on the right) is the lucky owner of these Rosa Bloom leggings, yet also happens to own her own line of recycled denim bags available here. My personal favourite on the site has to be the creme Navajo Drawstring cross-body bag, perfect for festival season. On my way out of the party I was given a goodie bag containing products from the Awapuhi Wild Ginger collection from Paul Mitchell and let me tell you, I seriously cannot wait to see if they can resurrect my hair from the dead. I'll let you know how it goes, because I know that you're all dying to know about the status of my hair.

ALICIA'S DRESSER

(via Sea Of Ghosts)
Possibly the greatest method for displaying jewellery ever? I would have to say that yes, it quite possibly would be. I'm also really enjoying the two rings on the thumb (far right), in fact I'm pretty much loving everything in this picture. Ok, it's time to stop procrastinating and instead start hitting out the last 500 words in this essay.

ALICE MCCALL

Available here
I blame Vogue's Fashion Night In for this purchase. I just couldn't resist this top seeming as it's all kinds of crazy awesome rolled into one simple style. At 20% off the already reduced price, it was pretty much guaranteed that I'd own this piece one day so I decided to speed up the process and make that day, today (technically "that day" is actually when it arrives in the post, but putting it that way of ruins the whole sentence, much like I'm doing right here). So is anyone else abusing their bank account(s) on the overload of sales for Vogue's Online Shopping Night?

BILLY BRIDE

Available here.
Hands up if you like minerals and crystals? Hands up if you like handcrafted minerals and crystals that are one of a kind, no two alike? Yeah, I thought so. Me too by the way. High five, we should be friends.  These amazing rings are designed by Renee Warne, the brainchild behind Billy Bride. Ranging in price from $295 to $345 you may not be able to adorn each finger in a range of crystals, but hey, there's no harm in buying just one as a special treat for that thing that you've been putting off but finally got around to doing, right? It may be a bit of a stretch but I'm trying to help you come up with a great excuse for a little splurge. You may thank me later, by buying me the 'TARA' ring (first picture).

RAFW ON FILM

I think that these images speak for themselves and I'm hoping you already know why I've posted them here. Elize had the best coverage from the week, I still go back to scroll through all of the pictures and just stare in amazement. I think that you should too, I guarantee you will not regret it (it makes for a fantastic mode of procrastination). My love for film is really starting to show now isn't it?

RUNAWAY

Taken on a Ricoh with 35mm film
During the middle of the week I arrived home to find a package sitting in a rather large puddle (smooth move Australia Post), waiting for me at the door. Fortunately the contents were packed in plastic because inside I found the greatest sunglasses that I've ever laid eyes upon. To say that I was excited would be a little bit of an understatement. The very next day Chloe happily took these photos of me and my new SABRE 'Runaways' on my little Ricoh film camera. NOTE: I do ask that you please excuse my face and the weird expression it decided to sport that day. I'll be posting the rest of the roll of film next week so stay tuned!

FRIEND OF MINE

Now I'm not a very fussy young lady, so it's safe to say that I'd be extremely content with either pair of these insanely good looking boots from Friend Of Mine. However at AU$398 and AU$440, it's also safe to say that you will not see these on my feet anytime soon. Unless of course I'm smart enough to grab them straight off someone else and run for my life. Even if they aren't a size 10/11 (and now you're thinking "HER FEET ARE MASSIVE" I'm 6ft, they're allowed to be), I'd be willing to endure the slight discomfort. It's all part fashion ladies and gentlemen. No pain, no gain.
