BRUNSWICK ST

This is by no means an update of my trip to Melbourne, this is just a teaser my dear friends. I'm currently running around the house like a mad woman trying to pack for Splendour In The Grass up in sunny old Queensland. If you'll be there, let me know and I'll be creepy and take your picture for you! In other news, Melbourne is so incredibly stunning and filled with the most amazing culture that I'm tempted to possibly move down after my course has finished next year. But more on that later. I'm off to go and pitch a tent in my backyard so that I can run a hose over it to see if it's waterproof. I promise I'm not insane, I just may look it.

MELBOURNE

This picture has nothing to do with Melbourne. I just had nothing to really go with the post and it felt naked without an image, hence the photo of myself and the camera. The actual purpose of this post is to let you know that I'll be missing for the next few days as I fly out (very early) tomorrow morning to Melbourne. Of course if you follow me on twitter, you won't miss a thing. For the rest of you though, you'll have to eagerly await my return to hear about it all. Don't worry, I promise to bring you souvenirs in the form of photographs and films. Adios mi amigos!

NATALIE BY VANESSA JACKMAN

Once again, I'm getting well ahead of myself by even looking at these pictures, but honestly, I just can't help how excited I am for spring to make its way back into my life. The way that Sydney's weather has been treating us lately has been rather poor and we deserve a favourable forecast every now and then. I'd just like the chance to frolic around in my deep pink, pleated linen dress that doesn't exist or looking wistfully into the lens of a camera whilst sipping on my cappuccino (I drink a cappuccino, not a flat white. Don't judge me). Anyone else feeling slightly similar or is that just me?

RAINY DAY

There's absolutely nothing I love more on a rainy day than curling up in bed with an incredibly oversized quilt, an even more ridiculously oversized cup of tea and just reading books and magazines until I fall back asleep.

CREEPERS

Model Anja Konstantinova's creepers. After the Mad Love shoot, she ever so kindly slipped the shoes back on for me so I could get a quick shot of them in all of their glory. If you couldn't already tell, I'm quite in love with Anja's tomboy style that she happens to pull off so effortlessly. She told me that if I'm ever after a pair like hers, eBay is by far the best place to start.

These photos are both proof that there are still some questionable sunglasses out there and that I'm MEGA HOT (I really do hope that my sarcasm is visible here, unlike most of my face in those slightly oversized beasts they call sunnies). Madeleine and I may or may not have spent a good fifteen minutes standing by the sunglasses rack at a surf shop, breaking down in fits of laughter at what was on offer. Don't get me wrong, some of them were actually better than decent (even some Karen Walker look-a-likes) but the visor just set me off and it was all downhill from there. I think I'll stick to my favourite Sabre Runaway's for now.

Another summer related post because I can. And I will. And I just did. Really though, this short film from Opening Ceremony is incredibly cute. It's kind of perfect in an imperfect way, if that makes sense? What I really mean to say is that you need to see this. For my sake, please.

MARKET HQ JULY LOOKBOOK

The lovely Annabel from Market HQ sent through their July lookbook to me this morning and I honestly couldn't wait to get home from work so that I could actually view it properly (my poor little Nokia just won't cut it sometimes). Most of today was honestly spent trying to create an image in my head of what was waiting for me in my inbox, but as it turns out, I seriously underestimated just how stunning it would truly be. I've always been a sucker for light filled rooms, clean white walls and rustic features and so this lookbook just has it all. Don't get me started on the clothing (please, you'll regret it and we'll be here all night) although I would like to quickly point out that I've fallen head over heels for the MINKPINK denim shearling jacket and the sheer maxi paired with the We Are Handsome bodysuit. Two words people: I DIE.

Much to my delight, I found a package from Frankie Sunshine already sitting at my door when I arrived home. I was actually so excited that I ripped it open and hurriedly stripped so I could try it on. Unfortunately in my crazed excitement, I managed to forget that I have a large two metre long window in my room that happens to look straight onto a main road. So I'm very sorry to all of those poor, poor people sitting in peak hour traffic that saw my little display of inappropriateness. Totally worth it though, because my new Stylestalker shirt is incredibly smokin' and I think I am madly in love.

LOVE AESTHETICS

Just about everything on this blog makes me want to strip it all back and live out a minimalistic lifestyle. Ivania's creativity is astounding and I find myself constantly in awe of her somewhat simple style. One day when I can bare to do it, I'd like to follow in her footsteps and just to start all over. I may need a little bit of moolah for that though. So I guess it's not a project that I could really start on anytime soon. Unless anyone is willing to fund me? You can have some of the junk that I'll be throwing away in return? No? Ok, but you're seriously missing out on some quality half used textbooks and second hand scrunchies.

SPIN DIZZY FALL

This particularly amazing ensemble belongs to Emma from Spin Dizzy Fall. Only Emm could pull off those boots so well and I love how easy she is to photograph. If you visit her blog (you'll never look back, I promise) you'll understand what I mean as her whole style is just beyond effortlessly cool. In other news: I nearly sprinkled ground coffee on my porridge this morning as opposed to brown sugar. Proof that I am tired and so if there are spelling/grammatical errors in this post, I do apologise.

STYLESTALKER

Available here.
Firstly: I'd like to say that I'm very proud of myself for actually purchasing a shirt that is "winter appropriate", and secondly: you all need to get into the Frankie Sunshine 30% off all stock sale that will only last a week. I may have just ruined my plan of saving for Melbourne, but owning my own little slice of Stylestalker goodness is worth it.

Proof that Anja is a the most amazing model I've ever come across. Not only is she so versatile, but she's somehow even more of a goddess in real life (I'm not even sure how it's possible but trust me, she just is). Expect to see a lot more of her on here quite soon so stay tuned. I just used the phrase "stay tuned". Don't worry, I'm equally as horrified as you are.

TUULA

If you follow me on twitter, you'd probably already be aware that I spent this morning at the Mad Love shoot where I had the privilege of being with some of the most amazing people as well as getting some behind the scenes shots. Now before you ask, do not fret your pretty little head because a post is on its way, I promise. This particular shot is of the lovely Jess from Tuula, a blog that I can guarantee that you'd fall in love with (that's if you haven't already).

SUMMER PERFECTION

Oh  hey there Northern Hemisphere. We get that it's summer over there so would you please consider us for a second and stop rubbing your well dressed women in our freezing cold faces. It's almost as though no words need to be spoken as to just how gorgeous this dress is. I will elaborate though, simply because I love talking (you may or may not have picked up on that already). The cut of the dress and the draping of the fabric all teamed with the perfect mix of fine accessories, yum. Yes, I just used the word "yum" to display my love for an outfit. But hey, I can't be the only person out there that believes this entire picture is just ridiculously tasty?

SEA

It's only natural that I would find myself head over heels in love with these portraits of Eva from David K Shields. I wouldn't even think twice about purchasing the first photos as a print and just plastering it all over my wall like a teenager with a crush on her favourite boy band (cough, backstreet boys, cough). Speaking of things that I love, I'll be having a short holiday in Melbourne in a few weeks time. The first and last time I went, I only stayed one night so hopefully I'll be able to soak more of it up this time around. If you have any suggestions at all, please leave me a comment! I'm looking for insider knowledge on good coffee, hidden alleyways for shopping in and of course the cafes and restaurants with the most delicious meals.
