CURRENTLY COVETING: ONE

Items that I desperately want yet cannot afford and certainly don't need. Well I could argue about my dire need for a new bag but in reality, I don't have a spare $450. In fact, I don't even have $450 right now thanks to my full-time studies (note the sarcasm)! As time goes on I'll try to post a new 'Currently Coveting' list roughly once a month, just to mix things up a little (cause I'm crazy like that). I might just "accidentally" email this one to all of my friends and family to give them hints for Christmas and my 20th Birthday. You know, just to be helpful?

MARY & MARIE

I have a bit of a soft spot for labels that put in effort on their lookbook shoots so when I was sent across these images from the new label Mary & Marie, my heart skipped a beat and I was suddenly desperate to get myself to the nearest beach. Not only are their bags covered in the best prints but they're also incredibly practical. And I'm not just talking about a measly zip to make sure the contents stay in, no way Jose! These bags have all been decked out with a removable lining to shake out sand/dirt, key clips, a wallet hook for extra security and even a neoprene water bottle holder. I'm particularly keen to get my hands on this baby to use as my (much needed) Uni bag!

BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE

Don't worry, I'm not referring to Chloe as a mistake but rather the accidental lens flare that I didn't even notice at the time I took the picture. This particular shot was taken somewhere on the grounds of our Uni while we were on our way to shoot the Carly Paiker pieces in a bamboo forest. Yeah, you read that correctly. There's a bamboo forest at my Uni. Along with an unused pool, a bunch of abandoned buildings covered in ivy, a jetty by the water and a tyre swing. We may not learn much while we're there but at least we have the best grounds! I'm sure that'll look great on my CV, right?

CARLY PAIKER

The amazing Carly of Carly Paiker Jewellery  recently lent me some of her gorgeous pieces, to shoot in any way that I wished. I must say that she was very trusting because the urge to just run away with the entire collection was alarmingly overwhelming. This is what beautiful jewellery does to you I suppose? Pictured above is the Leopard Rose Quartz/Silver ring, Multi Hexagon Bangles in Gold, Triple Leather Wrap Bracelet in Grey Snake/Gold and the Double Stone Ring in Turquoise. Don't think for a second that I've forgotten about you guys, because something very exciting is on its way and the words 'giveaway' and 'Carly Paiker' should hopefully lead you in the right direction! To keep up to date with Carly's designs, you can check out her Facebook Page or her Twitter.

On Tuesday evening, I was invited along to the Tato & Memi Autumn/Winter 2012 showing hosted by the lovely ladies from Tailormaid. Upon arrival we were treated to the most delicious Lindt macarons (I'm not even exaggerating when I say they were like heaven in my mouth) as well as a visual feast of the stunning clothing within the collection, 'Night Bird'. One of the designers behind the label, Marijana, told me that the gorgeous prints were actually inspired by the photographer Nick Knight and his book based on pressed flowers, 'Flora'. Usually I can pick out one or two of my favourite pieces within a collection but 'Night Bird' has me fawning over too many garments to even count. I can just see my already low bank balance dipping that much farther come Winter time.

I'm about to introduce you to the greatest invention since sliced bread: The Iconic. Put simply, it's a brand new online destination stocking the perfect balance of both Australian and international labels. Examples of some of these amazing labels on offer are Shakuhachi, Talulah, All About Eve, Minty Meets Munt, Dr Martens, Manning Cartell and Ladakh. And that's just a small sample of the Women's range. I haven't even gotten to the best part yet, they provide free express delivery Australia wide! You may remember that free just happens to be one of my favourite words! I've set up my own little wishlist below to showcase some of the amazing pieces currently in stock.

GRANDREA

Meet Andrea, or as we affectionately call her, Grand-rea. She dresses in the best vintage pieces (her collection of grandma style cardigans/jumpers is seriously enviable), is an incredible artist and loves food as much as I do. You can check out/stalk her work over on her tumblr, but I'm warning you now that the chances of wanting to urgently go on an op-shopping spree afterwards, will be fairly high.

After attending the Autumn/Winter 2012 showing at The Wonderland PR last week, I've been wishing for  the temperatures to drop again. I know what you're thinking, and ok, I may just be a little bit crazy but you have to believe me when I say that each collection was overflowing with incredible pieces. I actually felt like a five year old in a candy store oohing and ahhing as I worked my way through each rack. I was overwhelmed with the amount of colour on offer from labels like State Of Georgia, Mad Love, Joveeba and Toi et Moi. To top it all off, I fell head over heels in love with the outerwear from ELIATT and the debut collection from Knitte. My wish list for next Winter has already become quite lengthy and yet we're only just heading into Summer. I guess you could just say that I'm really, really, ridiculously organised?
