HELLO SUNSHINE

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Wearing Breo sunglasses, American Apparel shirt, vintage skirt and Breo thongs. Taken on a Nikon D90.
For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, tomorrow (the 1st of December) marks the very first day of our long-awaited Summer. Not only are we approaching those intensely hot days spent by the pool/beach/sprinkler/fan but we'll also be that much closer to Christmas! Cue the girly squeals of excitement. Maybe I should start narrowing down my wishlist to an appropriate number, say, three pages? At least I've ticked off my summer essentials (a pair of thongs and sunglasses to match) thanks to the amazing team over at Breo Australia.

BRUNCH

One of my biggest loves in life is food. If you follow me on twitter, you've probably figured that one out a long, long time ago. I just thought I'd give you all a quick breather from my fashion-related posts and share with you a delicious Sunday brunch we had a short time ago at Clover. Nothing really beats good food and good friends.

ELLERY

Last week I took some photos of the lovely Jess from Tuula in the most stunning ELLERY dress from The Iconic. It was probably the closest I'll ever get to a garment that amazing but just being able to photograph it (and on one of the most beautiful people) was a dream come true. This is just one of the shots I took on my own camera but I also took many, many more on Jess's drool-worthy Canon so be sure to check them out here!

RELIC

I think I actually let out an audible sigh when I first saw these images. In fact, as I now look at them for the sixth, seventh, eighth time, I'm still in awe. Despite only debuting four months ago, Molten Store are already launching their own limited edition collection titled 'Molten Relic' and will be available on the site from tomorrow (Thursday 24th) onwards. Jessy, the Director certainly has a way with words and states that "Molten Relic is for those who seek the rare, the gritty, and the opulent". One thing I know for sure is that I'll certainly be seeking out the stone suede and raffia clutch as well as the Biggest Rush ring to add straight to my Christmas/Birthday wishlist.

A BLOGGER'S BREAKFAST

I wish I could say that what you see here is my typical breakfast: champagne and macarons surrounded by amazing bloggers in a warehouse overflowing with some of my favourite clothing. Sadly my daily routine usually involves a bowl of porridge and a cup of tea while watching Sunrise (don't judge, I like to check the weather) but I at least had the chance to live out the ultimate breakfast last week thanks to the fantastic team at The Iconic. For those of you that haven't heard of the site yet, you're seriously missing out. With labels like Ellery and Stylestalker on offer, you'll never have to worry about finding the perfect outfit again. But the best part is the delivery. The Iconic offers free express postage to anywhere in Australia and 3 hour express delivery for us Sydney folk at the mere cost of $4.99. You know what that means, right? More money to spend on clothing and shoes!

ALL THAT GLITTERS

What you're looking at right now is one very small section of a University assignment of mine. That's right, I actually sit on photoshop for hours on end, cutting out paintings of crystals and images of clothing then altering them until I'm come up with something as equally insane as this. Essentially they're just collages but we try to make them sound less childish by using the term "photomontage". Welcome to art school kids! This particular one features some crystals by the artist Carly Waito as well as a dress from the current collection from designer Sara Phillips

TONY BIANCO

Last week I was invited along to the AW 2012 Preview for Tony Bianco thanks to the ever so lovely Jasmin from Friend in Fashion. Whilst there, I discovered at least six pairs of shoes that I desperately need in my life and also met the man behind the label, Anthony Bianco. Just a word of advice for you all: start saving your pennies now. Why I hear you ask? Well, by the time this collection drops into stores, you won't have to worry about trying to narrow down your favourites to just one pair. I know, I know, I'm such a genius. You guys can thank me later (by getting me a pair of those gorgeous slip on boots with the stacked heel). Oh and just a heads up, another giveaway is coming up shortly so stay tuned!

BELIEVE

Photobucket
After Jess from Jess Loves Fred and Carmen from The Chronicles of Her tagged me in their recent posts, I was contacted by the Sportsgirl team to get involved in a new summer blogger initiative titled 'Believe'. I've filled out the questionnaire and shared some secret and not-so-secret facts about myself, so I hope you enjoy! Make sure you also check out the Sportsgirl blog to find out which of your favourite bloggers have gotten involved so far.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I've had quite a few different career hopes over the years. Some of which were being an owner of a candy store (a standard dream for most 5 year olds), a volcanologist, an actress, an interior decorator and a graphic designer. It wasn't until the middle stages of high school that I finally found my passion in photography though.

Did you make this dream come true or did you change your mind?
I sadly don't own a candy store (yet) however I'm currently studying photography and working within the field so the dream is slowly becoming an amazing reality.

What is your fave childhood memory?
I spent a lot of my time growing up out in the country town of Scone. I don't think I can pinpoint an exact memory but I certainly loved those 40+ degree days when all you could do was swim in the neighbours pool, run underneath sprinklers and try to eat your ice cream before it suddenly melted into a puddle at your feet.

The biggest dream you have right now?
At the moment, my biggest dream is to work within fashion photography in a position that lets me use my creativity freely. It's a bit of a broad dream but it gives me the space to figure out what it is exactly that I want to do within that field and then follow it.

Your summer must-have pick from the current Sportsgirl range?
It's a tough call but I'd have to say the Two Kinds of Love Maxi from the Sportsgirl x Miss Unkon range because it can be easily dressed up for night or dressed down for day. Florals are also set to come back in a big way so this dress is the perfect addition to any girl's wardrobe.

I've been asked to tag three of my favourite bloggers to do the same so I'm nominating Aubrey from Hope This Lasts, Kristal from The Gypsy and The Fox as well as Emma from Spin Dizzy Fall.

BREAKFAST WITH AUDREY X SAMANTHA WILLS

I was recently asked by Tash and Pip (the lovely ladies behind Breakfast With Audrey) to collaborate with them on a shoot including the gorgeous Emm from Spin Dizzy Fall. On the day we shot 10 stunning pieces from Samantha Wills, all of which are being given away on the Breakfast With Audrey site, right here! The hardest part about entering the competition, is having to choose which piece you want to own the most. While you're deliberating one of the most painful decisions you'll ever make, take some time to check out the rest of the shots from the shoot. A big thank you goes to each of the girls for managing to stay beautiful and composed during the 30+ degree heat (I felt like I was dying and I was only the photographer). I'll leave you now with a behind the scenes shot of Tash, which is possibly one of my favourite images of the day.

TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY

Wearing Mad Love top c/o The Wonderland, DIY necklace, Market HQ ring and Standard Jean Co. ripped jeans. Taken on a Nikon D90.
Today has been a day filled with just the right amount of sunshine, too many Turkish Delight Tim Tams (the whole packet has been devoured already) and a lot of relaxing. Being the genius that I am, I actually managed to break my remote while taking these photos. I suppose that's what you get when you accidentally throw it onto the concrete while waiting for the timer to go off? In other news, the giveaway closed yesterday and so today I put each name (including bonus entries) into random.org and this is what I ended up with:

Congratulations to Chloe, I'll email you today to grab your postal details! For those of you that missed out this time around, don't fret because there will be another amazing giveaway coming up very, very soon.

Last night I made my way across to The Norfolk to preview the Winter 2012 collection from the amazing Australian accessories label, Condura. As I browsed, my eyes fell upon the perfect wide brim fedora - black with a wine coloured ribbon. We soon discovered that when the fedora drops into stores (around February 2012), it will retail for only $39.95! The highlight of the evening though, was definitely the goodie bag. Firstly, Bec and Alex had actually printed off labels with everyone's names on them and placed them all in alphabetical order (cute) and secondly, they were filled with the most fantastic items. Think nail polish, sunglasses, a clutch, hair products, grapefruit flavoured black tea and even more. A big thank you goes to Bec and Alex form Condura for having me along to the event!
P.s The giveaway actually closes tomorrow evening so get your entries in before it's too late!

SIMPLE

Photobucket
Wearing a simple Dotti grey marle tee with gold Lovisa cuff. Taken on a Nikon D90.
Sometimes I prefer to simply throw on a plain tee and dress it up with one or two accessories, keeping it basic. I actually have this tee in white as well and so far, both shirts have been worth their weight in gold (especially since I got them at a bargain price). As it gets hotter, I'll probably find myself reaching for the white version more and more because we all know Summer and white garments just seem to go hand in hand. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that even incredibly pale people (i.e. me) start to look like they have some sort of tan when in white?
